I wanted to save money and use water filters without a chip but my GE fridge requires a chipped RPWFE. This hack installs the chip from the bypass plug, thus, the fridge “thinks” there is no filter being used. Now an unchipped filter can be utilized because the fridge will only recognize the bypass chip. Since the fridge believes there is no filter, you will not receive notifications to change your filter, so you will have to remember to change them every 6 months. #lifehacks #generalelectric #r
